Bladder Cancer

Bladder cancer originates in the cells lining the bladder wall. Most cases are detected at an early, non-muscle-invasive stage where effective treatment is available — prompt evaluation after blood in the urine is essential.

Symptoms

  • Blood in urine (hematuria) — even painless
  • Frequent or urgent urination
  • Painful or burning urination
  • Pelvic pain or pressure
  • Recurrent UTI-like symptoms without infection

Causes & Risk Factors

  • Tobacco smoking (primary risk factor)
  • Occupational chemical exposure
  • History of chronic UTIs or bladder stones
  • Prior pelvic radiation therapy

Treatment Options We Offer

  • Cystoscopy and biopsy (diagnosis)
  • TURBT (transurethral tumor resection)
  • Intravesical BCG or chemotherapy
  • Radical cystectomy (muscle-invasive disease)
  • Long-term cystoscopy surveillance
